Preferably in .308. Any experience with either of these? Recommend something different (other than the ubiquitous Rem. 700)? Will be used for whitetail (300 yd. max.) and informal target shooting at up to 500 yds. Will reload my own ammo.

Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer.

Ive got a Tikka Super Varmint in .204 Ruger. Cant fault it. shoots better then I can. Southern cross tactical accessories top it off!

I had a T3 Varmint in 308. Best accuracy load was 41.5gr Varget with 175 SMK...10 shot group was 0.7". I really like the Tikka out of the box, but after Tubbs Final Finish the barrel was smooth as butter...

I own a HOWA (essentially a Weatherby Vanguard) re-worked by Kevin Cram and I like it just as much, but more options for customization and aftermarket stocks!
