Tikka t3 Lite .300wsm

I took the action/barrel assembly out of my T3 lite's stock to adjust the trigger. After doing so I put it all back together and can't seem to stop worrying that something just isn't right. It seems that the barrel is sitting pretty high above the stock at the end of the stock. I removed and put it back together atleast 10 times but it seem to seat at the exact same spot every time. I would say there is a 1/2" under the barrel at the front of the stock. Is this normal or is the receiver not sitting in the stock right?

What's happening is that your action is not aligned with your recoil lug. The nice thing about the Tikka recoil lug is that everything has to go back together one way to be right.

Is there a picture or literature I could read to verify how to make sure it's all lined up straight?
