Tikka bolt head

does anyone know for a fact if a 308 bolt head can be opened to a magnum bolt face without extractor issues? If yes could I get a lead on that?

I read about a guy having his smith open one up to a magnum. But he still had to find a magnum extractor, if I remember right the standard extractor wouldn't work.

Thank you CA48, now to find the guy who can make that happen. Would make my life a lot simpler.

Looks like this guy in post number 8 just opened up the bolt face and added a shim on the belly of the extractor.

You have to half *** it to make it work, the extractors are the same but the cut is not so you have to do something ghetto to make it work, and in the end it will try to raise the extractor and get it into a exit position if something blows it out. The Tikka really, really needs someone to make a bolt body for it, would be cheap and easy and would sell like crazy!!
