I am having a 7mm Mag built and was asked what I wanted it throated for. I am either shooting accubonds or a berger (what I am planning anyway). I told him to throat for a 160 accubond.

My question is if I want to shoot bergers or another bullet does that hurt me? How critical is that? His default is bergers but not sure that's what I want to shoot.

Thanks

Brian

The 160gr accubond has a longer bearing surface than a berger of about the same size so if you throat to be just infront of the neck shoulder with a just of the lands with the Accubond and also want to use a 168gr berger or 162 Amax they will be seated a bit further out in the neck, the 180gr berger should be about the same as the Accubpond.
