I have an opportunity to pick up a Zeiss HD5 5x25x50 for a good price.
The only drawback is the scope is equipped with hunting turrets. I would prefer the target turrets.

Does anybody have knowledge of how Zeiss' hunting turrets are to use for dialing?

Hell, while we're at it, any first hand experiences with this scope would be appreciated.
I have read that some people are not impressed with clarity of detail.
I'm not sure what the technical terms is for this.

I'm still on the fence about 5 power on the low end for hunting.
I would like 25 at the top end for long range though.

I am in the same boat looking to put a new optic for a new hunting camp we just got in. After hours of research the same two keep coming up between the Leupold with Firedot or the Zeiss Conquest HD5.

I added another scope to the mix.
Leica ER5 4X20X50.
Great glass, 70 moa of elevation, capped low profile turrets and 23 ounces.
Compared one to a Zeiss HD5 and a Leupold VX6HD at Cabelas last weekend.
Leica's eye relief at high power was much better than the others. No sliding your head forward or back for a full field of view.

I have a new 5-25x50 Zeiss with pled reticle I'm considering selling if your looking. Box has never been opened. I'd sell for cheaper than you can find it listed for.
