Americans did not take these words lightly at our founding nor should we take them lightly now. With the divine intervention of God Almighty, and a relatively small group of amazing Men and Women, our nation was created—and today, we still hold this strong desire for freedom in our American DNA, and on this Independence Day, my appeal to all is to never forget those who sacrificed along the path of freedom allowing us to stand our ground as the freest nation in the history of the world.
