Tell me abt the 7 SAUM, your thoughts

The 7mm RSAUM is an excellent cartridge. It's overlooked nowadays, and should be much more popular than it is.

My 7 RSAUM is built on a Remington XP-100 with a Bartlein 5R 17.5" barrel, 1:9" twist. I would choose a slightly faster twist if 180-195 grain bullets were on the menu. I planned to only shoot 162-168 grain bullets however, due in part to my expected velocity window with the 17.5" barrel.

I get 2850 fps with Berger 168 VLDH's, Hornady 166 A-Tips and Hornady 162 ELDX's using H1000. Accuracy is 1/2 MOA, and I've shot out to 1,100 yards with my XP-100 on steel.

With your 22" barrel you will get at least 25 fps per inch increase of barrel length, and then some more using RL26.

I hadn't heard of the Unknown Munitions DBM, so I looked it up. Do you know if I can use the 3.125" mags with an Impact? It didn't really say. I was glad to see you had a Saami chamber, I was unsure on the freebore but it seemed most who used it in SA, used a saami spec freebore.
Check your action. Can it handle that long of a coal in the bottom where the cartridge comes in? I would also call UM they are great.

Built a 7SAUM on a Defiance AntiX, Proof carbon wrapped 20inch barrel early 2024. It's on an XLR Element 4 mg chassis w/ folding but stock.. Using a TBAC suppressor and NX8 scope. I am shooting Berger 180 Hybrids at 2850 fps. Light weight, easy to hike with and very accurate, used on two hunts thus far with great success.

I've been so impressed with my factory 700 SS 300SAUM that there are definitely custom .257 and .284 versions in my plans. Researching actions and stock options now.

I have a 7SAUM built by LPR on a 22" Proof and Defiance AntiX Medium action topped with NX8 4-32. I shoot HH 143 suppressed at 3039 fps.

Depending on if you reload I'd go medium action, if not short is fine. I have a frankenAR in 7saum 8t 28" and hoping to get 2850-2900fps w/195eol's? I can load to 2.865". If you're planning on ever using mono's you'll need 1/2 to 1 full twist faster. 165-168 are the natural in 28cal as they're in 30cals best of both worlds! Short actions don't do saum's justice for anything over 175. I couldn't get a 7 or 7.5 twist from the maker or I'd be shooting 197smk's in it.

Great cartridge option! Known for its efficiency & inherent accuracy. My current 7 saum is on a Lone Peak Fuzion Ti Medium, with a 22" Benchmark Carbon. Short or medium actions are fine. I prefer it suppressed, but otherwise a small brake. My accuracy loads with 175/180's regardless of powder seemed to always come in at 2800-2850, accuracy dropped off above that even with RL26/N560 types. My personal favorite loads are with the 143 gr McGuire mono's & N560 going 3100 suppressed (I call that combo the cheat code in a 7 saum). Good luck man, and if you need some brass I was just considering listing some I have extra.

I built my SAUM on a Tikka action, 20" carbon six barrel, AG stock. It has been pretty sweet. I've tried a couple bullets and recently been shooting the 165gr sierra TGK and been quite pleased with that. Moving that 165 at 2950. IMO at minimum you need a UM bottom (or wyatts) if on a short action to have a chance at full capabilities of the cartridge, but that also depends on what freebore is cut at. I had it extended to be able to get full use out of a 180gr. Medium action is ideal but that isn't always the handiest option. Fits the Tikka really well. Pretty pleasant to shoot suppressed, the girls in my family have been comfortably shooting it as well!
