Swift Scirocco IIs in 280 AI

The performance of the scirocco on game was A-1 for me also.
300Rum with 180's and I think my 7RM used 150's.

"A ballistic tip that would give me an exit" is the way I thought of them. Been a while…

Nosler Accubond.
I shot Scirocco 1 before Nosler released them, too.
Honestly not too big a fan of the accubond. It's alright. I have a completely different experience with SIIs though. Buddy's 7rm has impressed me using them

I shoot the 150 Scirocco II in my 280 Ackley. Consistent 1/2 minute with 55 grains of RL16. Fed 210M. Load at your own risk...

Get 2970 fps with SD's under 10.

Have shot several critters. The last two were cow elk ~200 yards broadside. Bullet exited back side on both. High heart and double lung. Both ran about 50 yards. Initially did not indicate they had been hit. Seem to poke through like a bonded bullet should. I would go to the shoulder if I wasn't trying to minimize meat damage.

I have 4 280 AI's and none of them like the 150 Scirocco's for some reason. Best groups are slightly over 1 MOA but it is not real consistent. Tried several seating depths and a couple of my favorite powders, but to no avail. I still have over 250 of these bullets so as I burn them up this summer, I'll try different combinations.
Let me know if you want to sell those off.

55 grains of RL16 is magic...

I have been a Scirocco fan ever since they came out. I just finished load development with 130gr in my 270Rum.
3575fps. 87.1- H-1000.
I have them for a lot of calibers.
150 in a 280Ai should be fine. 👍

I vividly recall shooting a big sow probably 225lbs, right as the sun started below the trees. She was in a bean field, directly inline with the glow.
The vapor or mist or whatever from the penetration and expansion was large.
That 300RUM was dismantled a few years later.
No brake = no fun when the youth fades

97 or 98grs Retumbo if I recall
