I've narrowed down my scope choices to one of these two . Is one better than the other..Will be dialing for distance coyotes deer . With 338 edge.

I really like that HDMR, especially with the H59. If it had a zero stop and illuminated reticle I would've already bought one. To the zero stop issue, the locking turrets will help with it so it isn't as critical.

Length @ 13.2". Small package albeit a little heavy compared to a PST even though it is 2" shorter than the PST.

I don't know anything about the SS but I'm going to do a little research now!

They say the glass is awesome . As good or better than 3000 dollar scopes .I read a review by John a . And that was the impression I got. I think the review was here or on snipers hide. 8541 tactical has a good review on the bushnell .

I own both optics...the HDMR is much heavier then the SS 5-20. I like both optics and both optics have different benefits.

If you need illumination...SS 5-20.

If you shoot as a lot of unknown distances the Horus reticle is a good choice.

I'm surprised to hear everyone liking the Horus reticles so much especially when the DMR can be had a lot cheaper with the G2. That is my favorite reticle. I find the Horus too busy. Didn't mean to change topics just found that interesting. I sure wish a guy could look thru the SS somewhere before buying but unless you know an owner you can't. All the reviews I've read are great on both scopes. A buddy of mine just bought the bushnell ERS. I asked bushnell about the differences between the DMR and the ERS. I know the ERS has Z-stop but that looks to about it. Oh, and can come in FDE. For $500 more I can't see paying for the Upgrades unless the glass is better.

I have the HDMR w/H-59 and really like it. On my custom 300 RUM for precision long range shooting I use the Sightron S-III 8-32x56 with the LRMOA reticle. The bang for your buck with this scope is HUGE. I use a 15min. Lupy base with Sig.Z rings adjusted to another 10min put in the system. Give the S-III a look before you pull the trigger on your next scope.gun)

I just don't know about that sightron stuff. Haven't heard much about them. The more I read sounds like the best bang for your buck is vortex.. lots of good reviews.
