Suppressor Use by Minor

Do you carry around your approved 4473? Of course not. Quit making NFA items into some kind of mystical never never land golden ticket unicorn that needs a permission slip to take a ****.

I mean you guys seriously think if a game warden saw anyone let alone a 16 year old hunting deer legally with a license and tag, he is going to arrest him for using his dad's suppressor? I have ran into a few wardens over the years. They are hunters themselves and making sure people have tags and are shooting correct animals etc. They aren't trying to " ah ha! Got ya".

The nativity.
Given the manpower, or lack there of, if you're being asked for a tax stamp then you're being investigated. Hide your dog.

The standard of probable cause to be met is basically nothing for a collage drop out with a double digit IQ.

Having a Christmas tree scent dangling off your rear view mirror can be "probable cause." Your liberal neighbor calling you a gun nut klansman is probable cause.

While AK might treat their citizens like people, there's 12 states that CAN "check your papers."
It's commonly referred to "stop and identify."

If the federal government decides you're an enemy, it will not be a fair fight. If you don't have an army of lawyers behind you, and resources ($) good luck.

A judge isn't going to reject the affidavit for a warrant because the "probable cause" was actually reasonable suspicion. It happens all the time. Especially if you're not a big shot CEO or high profile person of some type.
I very much agree with the first point. If anyone is asking for your tax stamp, you probably need a lawyer yesterday and hopefully your dog is already full of tannerite.

The couple stasi esque states with stop and ID still require ras. I have to believe that a judge will actually uphold the actual law on that. If I didn't, we should be at war with every government agent now.

Technically speaking it is not "legal" for your 16 yo to have it without you being within arms reach or "direct control". Now on to real life. In my state I've quizzed quite a few GW and LE and I"d say that 75% of em don't have a d@mn clue what the gun/suppressor laws are. In most states you aren't REQUIRED to let ANYONE except ATF or IRS agents look at your tax stamp. How many ATF agents have you seen in the wild? None. The answer is NONE.. The real question is. How many times have you ever had a game warden walk onto your hunting property and check you? If the answer is 1 or more times then don't let the kid use it. Plain and simple. If the answer is never then I know what I'd do, but you do you brother.

Personal experiences mold opinions on LEO's of all types. It's important not to judge all by the actions of the few. However, it is wise not to push your luck by expecting every LEO to use compassion and understanding when you have crossed the line on what is legally required.

True.
The only time I've even heard about a suppressor being checked around here is a couple people that were picked up for drug bust where the search warrant party found a couple of unregistered homemade cans in their possession.
Had nothing to do with hunting.

For as little effort as it takes to click the button on a printer and print the document, then do that and prevent any potential hassle down the line. Just saying.
