Suppressor to bore alignment

I see that Geissele has some rods that you use to check the alignment between your bore and suppressor. Any body use these or is there another way to ensure proper alignment? They are not inexpensive at around 75.00 ea, but a bullet strike on your suppressor would probably cause catastrophic damage.
 
I was with the guy that threads all my barrels yesterday and we had this very discussion.

The conclusion was if the threads are done properly and your suppressor isn't bent, the guide rods are really not needed.

He's about 75 and has threaded more barrels than most ever could. Never had a suppressor alignment issue with any work he's done.

I'm not going to worry about it as long as my suppressors are properly maintained, fastened to the barrels and haven't been bent or dropped.
