I have six SpyPoint cameras on my hunting lease. Five are four years old; one is a year old. None of the cameras dependably transmit pictures through cell service. Currently, none of the cameras are transmitting pictures. Calling SpyPoint's customer service is terribly frustrating and useless. Hold times are horrendous. I was on hold for two hours last month. Each time I call, SP only offers to remotely reset the cameras, which is a temporary solution at best. I have been paying for the Premium membership and the cell signal at each location is good. Has anyone had a similar experience with SP? If so, have you identified the problem and found a solution? Has anyone had better luck with a different brand of camera?

I've been nothing but pleased with mine so far. Cell service is so so and still get all my pictures. I did have my first camera just stop working/transmitting photos and connecting to the cell tower for around 3 days. I had to go out to it and take the battery out. Once reset it started working fine and hasn't glitched again. Assuming the software is the most up to date on yours?

Yes, software is current.

We abandoned Spypoint 4 or 5 yrs ago, with the release of the micro.

They were horribly erratic, app interface sucked, battery life was terrible because they were constantly searching for a signal and CS was non-existent. You can force connect the Spypoints by removing the SD card and turning them back on, that will resolve some upload issues.

We went to Ridgetec and other than cost, there is nothing out there more reliable, with a better app interface or customer support.

We have quite a few Bushnell Cellucore 20s now as well as the Ridgetec. The customer service is phenomenal from Bushnell, the cameras have been very reliable, we have had to return 3 out of 15-20. I really like them and the app is promising.

I don't like the fact you cannot see videos other than on the SD card, something I really like about the Ridgetec.

When you say remotely reset do you mean they can reset it without you being with the camera? I have the same thing going on and I am 1900 miles from my camera.

They cannot remote reset the camera, he specifically said he went and removed the batteries and reinstalled and the camera reset and began transmitting pictures.

Spypoint had the price point and the technology, they just had a bigger desire to screw all that up.

Until you have a camera that is truly trouble free, will you understand how bad Spypoint fumbled the ball.

Supposedly, Ridgetec has a new line of competitive cameras coming to market, I haven't seen them yet.

I have an original camo Ridgetec that has been running without internal batteries for almost 5yrs. I built specially modified solar packs for all of them and unless a critter unplugs the pack or chews the antenna off, they work.

I just suspended that camera a few days ago and removed it from service at the lease to bring it home for surveillance work on the farm.

had the same frustration a few years ago, the fix was pulling the batteries, reformatting the memory card and booting back up…

SP has in the past updated the firm-wear remotely, which takes a long time and can also be done by plugging the camera into a laptop. In any event, I am done with SP.
I'm having the same problem with Spypoint even trying too cancel , looks I'm stuck paying the premium on several cameras, that don't work . I set up 12 volt gel cells with solar chargers 90 percent signal at all times customer support is about non existent , hope they go bankrupt.
