Best light weight spotting scope? Want to stay under $1500 and be as light as possible.

Id try some if you can or have friends with them.The Kowa is a nice little scope,but they are specific and harder to use ,small field of view etc. My old 1/2 price Leupold 15-45x60 I prefer over my Kowa.Mines going up for sale after Sunday

I think The KOWA 663 Prominar is the best compromise, its light enough but has enough weight to be manageable and has plenty of power and objective size.

Kowa. Nothing like them. Don't even need a Prominar, lower end models are still insanely good.
