NEW PHOTOS: Bighorn Basin Classifieds - Your Bighorn Basin Classifieds
This rifle was originally a .338 RUM - now with a new Douglas sporter barrel - so it WILL feed and cycle from the magazine.
-A no-go on converted long-action 700s - internal width at the lower bolt rails = single feed only.
'Been there - done that - with a 700 .338 WM.
The RUM rds. would go in the magazine - but jam on the way up!
-'Was a ****er...I hunt in grizzly country...'sold that one...bought this one.
Remington had to accomodate the new fat round in the 700's manufacturng process for reliability.
Gunsmiths may (or may not) do this for you correctly in your conversion.
The new barrel has less than 150 rds. through it.
'Can shoot under 1-inch at 100-yards with hunting bullets.
(Nosler 210-gr. Partitions going 3100+ fps.)
What will it do with boat-tail 210 Swift Sciroccos, 250 and 300-gr. SMKs?
The rifle is rather light - standard 700 BDL sporter in weight.
The muzzle brake is amazing in reducing muzzle rise and felt recoil. -Quite stationary, indeed.
And the Sako-style (AR-15-style) extractor is positive and easy on the brass.
If you can handle a (brakeless) 7mm mag or a .300 WM - you can handle this rig in the field.
$950. (Guncase included.)
FREE S/H (All 50 States) to your loco FFL/Dealer.
(Yes, so that even Lefty Hawaiians can shoot their distant relative and neighbor's coconuts. )
