Thinking about the sig kilo 2000 for the wife.
Can get one new for about $350 locally.
This will be used mainly for marmots, jack rabbits, coyotes out to around 700 yards max but mostly under 500 yards.
For you guys that use them, How well does it work for little critters at this range.
Other options???
We do a share a zeiss PRF but it's bulky and I would like something smaller.

Thanks
Randy

It'll be fine on little critters, if you mount it on a tripod, for stability. I carry a light, collapsible monopod in my pack for big game ranging. You'll have to establish exactly where in the aim point you get most accurate reading. Excellent rangefinder.

The Sig Sauer 2000 works great for me. It ranges anything out to about 1100 yards after that I need to find a dark pine tree or something reflective, then I can get a reading out to 1700 yards + so far. You don't have to get exactly on a critter you can range the ground beside it to get the range it ranges that good. I don't expect to ever get a 3400 yard reading that it says it is capable of but I am like you in the way I only need it to range every time to about 1200 yards . You wont have a problem at 500 yards unless it would be defective . Good luck hunting and be safe.
