Everything I've heard is it's TOUGH. The downside is it may not work well beyond maybe 700 yards?
Are you maybe thinkin of the Gamechanger? I've never thought of the Gameking as a tough bullet.
To the OP, at that type of velocity (3400+), any cup and core type bullet can turn into a bomb at closer ranges. If you want a "tough" bullet for your 257, try the 110 accubond, GMX, or the 100 grain scirocco.

No idea... I only shot 110 AB's and 115 VLD's when I had mine...

I don't think there is a .257 cal. Game Changer yet.
I think of the 257 Wea. as a MPB range rifle & not a long range rifle but that's just an opinion & 0-500 yds. the 100 TTSX does it well. For longer ranges I would rather use my .264 WM

I had same problem with my .257 Wby. Switched to Accubonds. Tried Barnes but poor accuracy.

I have a load for the 257 Weatherby and 100 grn Sierra Game Kings, but found them to be to inconsistent on how they would hold together at the Weatherby speeds. Mostly the problems I had was summer time hunting hogs in South Texas. I think the temperatures affected the pressures of the cartridge and the old cup and core bullet just couldn't keep it together. I moved to 110 grn Accubonds and have never looked back. Several of us I hunt with and to a man we use the same load of 82 grn of H-1000 with 110 Accubonds with amazing results.
P,S, I shoot the same 100 grn Sierra Game King in my 257 Roberts with excellent results. I load the 100 grn Sierra Game King in my bosses 25-06 and it is deadly accurate.

What are you hunting with your 257 Wby? That may make a difference.
I've killed deer and varmints with mine using the 100 grain Sierras. Also have used Noslers and Hornadys with similar results.
I never really figured that they would be tough bullets, they just kill deer and exploded ground hogs and foxes.
The Barnes 100 TTSX was very accurate in my rifle and I killed a few deer with very good performance.
Killed one this past year with the 115 Ballistic Tip, accurate and explosive!!
Killed a couple with the 115 Berger in the last few years, accuracy was great and the deer just flipped over.
I don't get hung up on some kind of text book performance when hunting with the 257 Wby.... I just know that if I get a decent shot on a deer, he is in big trouble. Shoot the bullet that gives the best accuracy in your gun.

I shot a 8pt whitetail with a 110 accubomb this year in the shoulder at 100yds. Bullet blew up and deer ran atleast 3/4 mile. I wouldn't trust them on close range high velocity hits.

Try hammer bullets. I have them in my .300 WM and they are accurate as I'm capable of shooting (sub half MOA) and won't blow up being a mono metal bullet. Might be able to get a little more BC in the 25 cals. I don't own a .25 cal so I'm not sure.
