Has anyone ever experimented with .458 cal bullets with the MMP sabots for that cal bullet in a .50 muzzeloader? Looking at bullets in the 300-450 grain range. The 458 Barnes Original 400 grain semi-spitzer flat base has a .389 BC & a .272 SD. The Barnes Triple Shock X in 450 grains has a .488 BC & a .306 SD Those numbers are hugh compared to anything that is offered specifically for a muzzeloader. This would be a serious big game bullet & that being said the higher BC & greater weight of these bullets would also aid in longer range trajectory & down range energy. Don't know if the 1-28 twist would be enough to stabilize these pills in a sabot or not, but this will be a summer project for the Encore. Your thoughts, experiments & experiences?
