Recently acquired a new sendero in 7mm rem mag. I placed a vortex pst 6-24-50 ffp with night force rings and base. Being short on time with new twin girls im currently not interested in reloading so I bought some high grade factory ammo the nosler custom I think 154 grain and its the only grain they make. My riffle didn't like them at all. I know that their are plenty of shooters on this forum that have or know a shooter who owns this riffle. With the price of ammo I was hoping that someone could point me in the right direction.

00- i would adjust thrigger if you have not. i have some senderos. the most accurate and only factory ammo i have fired was Fed 180 tsx out of the 300 win mag. out the 7mm both the 140 accubond and the 168 berger were very accurate with handloads. you shooting elk , coyotes, targets??

hey 00,are you from California?If so you need copper bullets I think. anyway,I had a .308 win.for 20+yrs. They always come out with something new. You must decide what your needs are. 150for deer,165 for everything, 180 for elk,moose. But still your gun may shoot one ammo better in a certain loading.Invest some time and try 3 or more brands according to your price. Most expendsive is not only the best all the time. SST,Accubond give excellent groups in many calibers in my experience.

Same here with the same rifle.
My Sendero likes the 140 grain "Combined Technology" load from Wichnester, which is a ballistic tip in disguise. It also likes the HSM 168 grain factory loaded Bergers.
There is specific area in SoCal called the condor region Wher u cannot shoot lead. I've never been their and never will. They r always trying to pass new laws here though. Mostly looking for accuracy as I will mainly be hunting antelope size animals so bullet knockdown not really an issue. I would love to hunt more elk just hard to get quality tags. I apply in four states but only two for elk and actually drew my first bull elk tag her in NorCal called East Park Bull hunt. A once in a lifetime, trophy Tule elk hunt but I will be using a muzzleloader. Hunt starts in one week

It's under an inch at 200 yards last year with the HSM ammo. I'm going to use the HSM as the load to copy when I get around to handloading for that rifle. The Winchester wasn't quite as good, but stays under 1 MOA.
Note that Berger bullets, especially in ammo loaded by someone else to whatever their specs may be, tends to shoot really well or really poorly in a rifle. Of the 4-5 rifles we've tried HSM ammo with Berger bullets the Sendero is the only one that shot exceptionally well. This is the long way of saying "your mileage may vary."

Thanks a bunch for the info. I'm gonna order a box and I will post my results. Might be a few weeks as I have an important hunt coming up. I also plan on doing some reloading for this rifle. I will be new to reloading and probably wont be getting serious till around the holidays. With the way things r going in my state feels like a good time to start.

I have a similar set up to you, but in a .300 Win Mag. I had bought 180gr Core Lokt to break in the barrel with and after that had shot Nosler Partitions, Federal Powershot, Barnes TSX and Honady Super Performance Interbonds. That 'ol tried and true box of Core-Lokt shot the best group off bench oddly enough, so I have been hunting with that. Hasn't let me down yet, and I'm not going to complain about price. Plus you can almost ALWAYS find it. I can't speak to how the round handles past 700 because that is as far as I consistently shoot it. The round is going to perform like a hunting round should. Good velocity, good penetration, good expansion, good weight retention. Just a really reliable round.
That is interesting that the core lokt gave u the best groups. I know some serious hunters who use them and I also used them out of my 700 30-06 for yrs. That is great for u as the price of that ammo is reasonable.
