I am working up some loads for a 30-338 Win mag that I got rebarreled and wanted to see what people reccomend for seating depth for bonded bullets. My old barrel would not shoot good enough to tell a difference but the bartlien is a shoter.

I am using 165 grain hornady interbonds.

I usually set them 10 thou from the lands.

Do you treat a bonded bullet differently?

Ok I tried .020 to .080 this morning.

I got a ragged hole with .040 and a 1 inch group with .080.

Is this typical?

Yes. Some depths are better than others. Sounds like you had a successful test to find .040" off.
