Scope for F Class

Can someone suggest a suitable entry level scope for F Class competitions shooting a 308 Win out to 1000 yards.
I don't want to spend any more than I have to but want a scope that is capable. A variable power scope would be required to handle heat haze that is common on our ranges. Would a 6-20 have enough magnification?

Steve I used a 6x20 leupold LR vx-3 for a couple of years and it will get the job done.
I've also used a 8-32 sightron, and a straight 30x leupold 1" tube model.

I've won or placed in matches with all 3.

Now I have been running 8x32 and 12x 42 NF
