SCHMIDT polar t96 L7ffp or D7sfp

I'm buying a polar t96 3-12 but can't decide if I want the ffp l7 or sfp d7. This scope will be on a medium range (600yard) hunting rifle. I shoot competitive prs with different rifles so I am familiar with ffp reticles, but not specifically the L7 in the 3-12. Anyone with firsthand experience care to chime in? I don't want a reticle that's too big at 12 power and unusable at 3 power. The subtensions of the L7 seem almost useless so I don't understand why you would want ffp on this scope.

I just had the Polar 3-12x54 with the D7 in hand a few weeks ago. I also have the Klassic with L7 (+). The optics were excellent as expected but I returned it.
