Been meaning to burn the Lapua Naturalis Bullets for some time. Now that deer season in Texas has come to an end. Got access to drop some piggies.

I think you are right on why they stopped producing them. The market they would be used was regulated out of the energy range. And here in the states it's all about bc even if most will never use it. I have guys that can't shoot 300 yards but swear they need the 147 eld and my 124 hh is to small. Lol

Hi, i think lapua just came out with the naturalis loaded for creedmoor... how would these compare to the newish 140gr gmx? And would there be much benefit with the 140gr vs 120gr within 250 meters? Cheers

I've been wondering the same question.
as for the benefits. Well according to my calculations an energy comparison would look something like this.

Distance. Yd Energy Ft-LB
140gr. 120gr
200. 1944. 1621
400. 1500. 1199
500. 1300. 1019
560. ~1200. ~ 920

so based on my "energy needed for no suffering" standard; The 140gr has the energy to take down a moose out to ~300 (1800ft-lb). An elk out to 400. (1500ft-lb) and finally a Whitetail Buck deer out to ~560. (1200ft-lb). All shots into the boiler room. Head/Neck shots are a totally different story but requires an excellent experienced shooter with a capable rifle.

So it looks like its worth it as eventhough the speed is lower you still get more energy into the animal... and the extra drop is minimal at these short ranges. But so far very little hunting info on the gmx 140, naturalis or the vox 140gr in 6.5mm
