SCAM wrong, false alarm

Publishing personal data of someone not involved is pretty uncool.

Someone posted and address and said who owned the property.

That's really uncool.
This is all stuff that anyone can google up that has any interest at all.

We're trying to help him find a potential scammer and I doubt any of this stuff could be harmful since google will reveal it all.

No, it's not "google up", TruthFinder requires a payment or subscription.

It is irresponsible to share publicly names and addresses on a firearms based site.

It's publishing private information of a gun owner or someone not involved with the situation. Haven't you heard of DOXing.

It appears that the owner of the address is not involved in the "SCAM" but now their name is open to anyone looking to DOX a gun owner.

I used google and did NOT pay or start a subscription. I won't argue with you but those are the facts. Have a nice day....

ByronC I can understand your anxiety with the purchase. I am the type of person who would give someone the money if they truly were in need, but....I can get real ****ie if someone steals it from me. I read through all of the replies, but...I didn't see what time frame you are writing about in this thread???? As for scammers they exist everywhere and one must be cautious as all hell when making an online purchase. I read some of the replies about checking on the person's address and personal information, for most times this will work, but again we are talking about thieves who are as high-tech or higher-tech than most of us are. As for a personal address, I posted about a scam on the forum about a company in Kansas (?) a few years back. This scammer actually stole a legitimate company's name, company address and actually posted a photo of the company's business on the webpage. For some reason I didn't feel right about making the purchase and "actually" called the local PD and asked about the place and its legitimacy. The local PD told me that the gun shop that I was looking to make the purchase from was a legitimate dealer, however the site that was online was a scammer. The officer stated that the gun shop and the PD knew of the scamming going on, they had tried everything they could to shut down the web site, but were unable to do it. Another such incident is the web site Powder Valley, where a scammer opened up a site one "POWDERS VALLEY", and POWDERS VALLEY's site mimicked POWER VALLEY's web page. From all of the replies that I have read here, it seems that there is a strong possibility that this person is a scammer in sheep's clothing??? If nothing else I want to thank you for making everyone on here aware of this potential scammer, and also hope that you did report this person to the administration on this thread.

If you found it on Google it must be true. You will have to excuse me, there are a bunch of dudes pulling a big wooden horse up to my castle. I think it is a trick, nevermind. Let's continue.

I hear the OP doing a lot of complaining but there is STILL NO TRADER RATING filed to warn others. Takes all of 20 seconds to file one. Kind of makes a guy less sympathetic.

Why not just invite him to the party? If he's a scammer he won't partake and if he's not he will be on here defending himself real quick I'm sure.
@C416R

He was on here not too long ago looking at the thread he sold you the brass on.
