this was ordered as a Savage sporter weight barrel for hunting
I noticed right away as I picked it up, it wasn't , so I mentioned it was wrong and the reply was this is a Savage sporter contour like you ordered ,
well its closer to a varmint contour
it does shoot really good , as does my 223ai from ecaliber, I put approximately 20- 30 rounds through it (for sight in basicly )
I would shoot one and clean for 1st 5 rounds then cleaned ever 5
I had handloads that my other 300wms like ,after I walked it to the center I got excellent groups
but its just to heavy to hunt ,its krylon-ed flat black -I can remove if wanted

measurements -are 1.060 just past threads on chamber end to 0.600 at muzzle
and basicly a strait taper from point a to point b
