savage model 40 in 22 hornet

anyone with some good handloads using lil gun powder and 40gr nosler bt overal length dosen't matter to much as it is only a single shot. Any help is appreciated

The Lil Gun powder is very efficient in the little hornet case, in my gun Ruger 77 Varmint 22 hornet I shoot a 40 grain Sierra HP, flatbase over 12gr of lilgun. It is a very safe powder to use i don't believe you can put over 13 grains in a case without compressing them. Also 13 is the max, just load up from 11.5 thru 13 in 1/2 grain incriments and I bet you will find a load for your gun.

I just traded for savage model 40 22 hornet. Sighted it in today, shoots 40gr super x, 3/8" group at 100 yds. Am hunting dies and components. I have read h 110 and lil'gun are the choice powders. Will let you know when I find a load.
