Savage Arms is for sale as part of a corporate restructuring that'll see parent Vista Outdoor get out of gunmaking and focus on ammunition, hydration bottles and packs and outdoor cooking products.

Vista also owns Federal, CCI, Bushnell, etc. I assume they're focusing on Federal?

BTW, the lunatic left is already making threats at any potential buyer:

This should be the most talked about thread on the site. We are watching the destruction of our second amendment rights by activism. The next tactic will be shareholder takeover of firearms related companies. The activists are creating the volatility in VSTO. This is as serious as any weapons ban bill.

I really hope they sell to a decent company, Savage has really become a major player the last decade or so and their quality has been great.

Remington Outdoor Company (Freedom Group/Cerberus) just made it out of bankruptcy. They should be good to start again to acquire gun companies for the purpose of destroying them.

I am not a real Savage fan but this is still more bad news we do not need to hear. Good to hear about Remington hope all the companies involved in the Freedom group can escape them.

wonder what it would take to buy savage?? maybe as gun owners we should just own the companies?? then we can tell the libtards to go be forth, be fruitful and multiply thy self:)

Remington is not Freedom/Cerberus... Cerberus Financial owns the debts of Freedom Group (umbrella organization), who in turn bought Remington, AAC, Marlin, Winchester, and owns several other gun and outdoor companies.
