Does the Savage 110 Trail Hunter (which has been getting good reviews) look like a Savage Axis action?
Nah it looks like a Predator to me. That looks like a Axis II to me. I like my 110 flat backs, better. I wish Savage just had the foresight to get with the times. And make the action screw spacing all the same. Same bolt release. And use AICS mags or similar. And fix the hard bolt lift. lolDoes the Savage 110 Trail Hunter (which has been getting good reviews) look like a Savage Axis action?
I would read this forum. The guy gives a better review than I can. I have a lot of Savages. But to me they just aren't up to par with the Howa, Rem, Sako, Weatherby, etc actions I have. Do they shoot well ? Yes But there's something about them that just doesn't turn me on as much as the other rifles. Perhaps the minor issues I have stated is the biggest issue I have with them. But for the money some are a steal & others are not. https://www.savageshooters.com/showthread.php?73029-Picked-up-my-new-Trail-Hunter-first-impressionsTo me the "traditional" 110 action looked like two pieces of round stock joined together by two pieces of flat bar.
In other words open at the top and bottom.
The Axis action is more enclosed.
@M1A1ABRAMS ,
Do you mean the Precision action?
And if that's the case, are they large shank on the 110 Trail Hunter?
