I have a Savage 12 300 WSM that started life as a blind mag rifle.
Now it is an MDT Chassis with AICS mags.

I'm thinking I'd like it in a stock like:

That would require this, I think:

How big of a project is this gonna be to get this in that stock and bottom metal?

Top or bottom bolt release?
PTG has bottom metal for bottom bolt release that accepts AICS (since you already have the mags...)

Note the stock you selected is for varmint/heavy contour, I'm guessing your current factory barrel is a sporter contour?
In any case, "drop-in" these days is usually pretty close at worst- meaning none to minimal tweaking of stock inletting. A rotary tool should easily take care of it, as long as action screw spacing, top/bottom bolt release and proper barrel inletting are correctly selected.

I stand corrected- I didn't realize that Accurate Mag is AICS pattern- so you're GTG with your current mags.
Since Jeff's passing/CDI no longer, I don't know of any other source, but you might check on the Savage Shooters forum to be sure.
Coincidentally, also building a .300 WSM myself and glad I held onto bottom metal from one that I put into an AICS chassis, so all I need is a new bolthead and factory mag.
