Savage 112 Stock Modification - Advice?

I have a Savage 112 bull-barrel 22.250 that is a really nice shooter but it has a blind magazine (i.e, no floor plate, no clip, etc.). I'm willing to risk having to replace the black plastic stock by personally trying to modify it to accept a detatchable magazine but think it would be wise to ask advice first. Do any of you have advice on where to find a mag, any tips on 'dremeling' out the mag well, etc. Thanks in advance.

The simplest would be to look into the ACME magazine conversion. There are several other, but this one seems to be the simplest. No idea on inletting the stock though
