Hello everyone, just joined the forum after reading some very informative discussions on this site.

So my question is, Savage 111 LRH or CZ-USA UHR?
I am looking at getting a very accurate rifle I can use for shooting hogs in my wheat fields out to 600-700 yards. I have settled on a .300 win mag for the caliber. Both rifles appear to be similar to the other, save the CZ runs about $250 more. Does anyone have experience with one or both of these guns? Any input would be appreciated.

Here is a link to the manufacturers pages on the guns.

JM, welcome to LRH. I have no experience with a CZ, I've always thought they are good looking rifles and have been told they shoot good. I am a longtime Savage fan. I own about 20 of them, do not own the 111LRH. ALL the ones I own and have ever shot are shooters.

The CZ is a BIG step up in quality from a Savage. IMO, you get a lot more rifle for the money with a CZ vs most other factory rifles.

Having said that, the Savage will likely give you excellent accuracy for less money. If those two factors are most important to you, you will probably be happy with the Savage.

One important detail, however, that might make me shy away from that particular model of CZ is the 1:12 rifling twist. I don't understand why they specced the rifle that way for a .300 Winchester Mag. For me, the lack of a 10 twist would be a deal breaker for a rifle in this chambering.
