Savage 110BA .338 Lapua

I will soon be the owner of one said rifle(yay!!). I have been looking at different scope bases for this rifle. I have seen the name Ken Ferrell thrown around, and also have been looking at Murphys Presicion. While the website lists the scope base screws as 6-48, i have read some post saying they are 8-40. Can anyone clear this up for me? Savage does not have an email listed and will only call Savage as a last resort. Thanks in advance!

You will love the rifle! Mine came with an EGW 0 moa base on it with #8 screws. I took it off and put a 25 moa EGW base on it. Enjoy the rig Ryan
