I don't have any experience with the lightweight hunter, but I am loading for two different 260 Rem's. One is a Savage and the other is a Rem Model 7 with a Hart barrel.
Here is some loads that I have had good success with:
For a hunting load in my Model 7 I am using 44.0 grains of RL-17 in RP cases, WLR primers and 120 Barnes TTSX bullets for a velocity of just under 2950 ft/sec.
In my friends Savage I load 130 Accubonds, 46.5 grains of RL-19, RP cases and WLR primers. This has proved to be an excellent deer load.
For target shooting I have found that my Model 7 will shoot .5 or less groups with 142 grains Sierra Match bullets, Lapua cases, BR2 primers, and 44.5 grains of H4350.
If you want to try any of these loads start low and work up.
