Sitting in the airport waiting on our return flight and thought I'd share some pics and success stories from our trip to Saskatchewan this past week. My wife and I enjoyed 7 days of bear hunting and had some amazing experiences.
I took along my LPR 30 Nosler shooting 181 Shock Hammers and my wife use her 7mm-08 Tikka semi-custom I put together for her with a Mesa stock and PVA prefit barrel shooting 150gr ELD-X. My wife took an exceptional boar on day 3 and was her first bear ever. She made a great shot on him and the bullet performed perfectly.
I waited till day 6 and shot the biggest bear of my life and according to the outfitter the biggest spring bear ever harvested at their camp. This is the first animal I have taken with a hammer bullet and it did a fantastic job.
This was one of the best hunts I have ever done. Watching the bears and attempting to judge them was a fantastic experience and the fun in camp was much needed. Already rebooked for 2025!!
