Looking for info on the new Sako's. Are the action as good as 75's - 85's?
I have one in 300 Win mag. I'm not qualified to answer the good as question, I've never owned a 75 or 85. A few Tikka's... It's a super smooth cycling action and I'm very happy with the fit and finish.Looking for info on the new Sako's. Are the action as good as 75's - 85's?
Mine is 1:10" twist. The S20's at Eurooptic (Hunter and Precision) are both listed as 1:10". I know there was a bunch of marketing info with 1:11 twist listed when these first came out. I researched it a bunch and found other Sako materials (their website) saying they were actually 1:10.That is a tough call for accuracy. Some may miss the fact that Sako puts a 1 in 11 twist in their 30 cals.
I an S20 hunter in 300 WinMag and its a shooter for sure. My rifle will shoot anything I put in it. With hand loads shot one 3 shot group in a single ragged hole but typically less than one MOA.What is the accuracy of S20 - 300win? I am thinking of buying a Sako S20 Hunter - you probably don't have the Hunter - but would like to know if so because I have seen reports of it just barely making or even not making one MOA
My S20 300 WinMag shoots 212 gr ELDX light out.yes the 1:10 twist rate appears to be a minimum rate for 30 cal bullets - has anyone loaded the 200 gr bullets with these S20s in 300win and noticed any problems? According to Berger the 1:10 rate is the minumum recomended - I wonder if buying a 300win rifle with like a 1:9 or 1:8 twist rate would help accuracy when using heavier bullets?
