I've never seen mediums - I'm sure they exist but not in the last several years.

Not sure what your are mounting but have you tried the one piece Sako optilok? They are about medium height. I just used them to mount a Swfa 3-9 on my Finnbear. They fit just about perfect with that scope and now I can dial it and have a reliable scope.
I used leupold in the past but they are only two screws per ring and have no arrest or pin. The optilok have the arrestor pin on the rear dovetail. This will limit your ring position. That's the only downside I see.
