Sabot slug barrel length vs velocity?

Has anyone ever done any testing to see what effect different barrel lengths have on the velocity of sabot slugs? I've googled till my fingers are tired. I'd like a shorter barrel for deer drives in the thick stuff but dont want to decrease my velocity too much for longer shots.

They are loading sabots with more of the slower powders like
we are doing when loading our super sabot, so you will loose more
velocity, About 25 fps or more per inch.. I can't see losing velocity, getting more
recoil from reduced weight , getting more noise closer to your ears.

THE conventional thought --short barrels needed to get slow slug out the barrel
before recoil to aid accuracy, but with much faster sabot loads the load can
get out the 24"barrel before recoil raises it.Ed
