RUT STILL GOING STRONG in the East.

The BULLS are still going insane in PA. Some of the monsters are coming out of the dark timber on the prowl now. Rifle season is about a month away and some lucky hunters are going to have a trill of a lifetime or two. I'll be hunting with my camera trying to find some mega-giants.

Some of the pics are borrowed from friends who do amazing work.. enjoy them and hopefully they'll stir you up..

You mean "wide glide"... he's still alive but has gone downhill probably due to age...just saw him a few week back chasin' cows..

i thought i had seen a video of this bull not doing very well .. basically dragging his left side around in a circle.. like something seriously wrong

He's always been heavier on his left side, I guess it's finally taken it's toll on his vertebrae and neck muscles..he is walking fine, just a little tilted...lol. I pray he survives the upcoming rifle season...he's an old warrior..

Wow, Great pictures. Its pretty obvious that the elk like what the east has to offer as far as nutrition and minerals. Great horn growth.I'm sure a lot of it has to do with limited tags as well and them being able to get a litle older than they do in most western states that have a huntig season for them. Thanks for sharing.

YEPPER, ALL YOU MENTIONED and then some...the wildlife agencies, RMEF, GAME COMMISSION, ETC involved have pumped a ton of money at the program...countless hours of clear cuts and food plots and autumn olive and building an elk center for literally 100'000 of visitors a year pumping big $$$$ toward it all, and a lot of land acquisition...I can assure the next world record is already walking around here and a few other top 10 mega giants...I look for the world to be shocked again this fall...
