Rusted barrels..

Not sure if this the right forum area for this but I'll give it a shot.

My uncle had some .22's, shotguns and pistols just thrown in the basement and never took the them out years to maintain or anything. The barrels are rusted, inside and out. It's doesn't seem to be deep thick rust but more surface rust. Trying to refurbish them. What's the best rust killer to bring back these guns now days? Without replacing barrels etc? If possible…Appreciate the replies. Thank you.

Maybe the easiest and most complete way is electrolysis

Clean the bores and shoot them first it may surprise you how well they shoot. I would do this before you decide how much time to spend on them
