I've got a .300 RUM and a load using 215 Hybrids with Retumbo. I've also got some RL33 I'd like to try. My main question - is RL33 better suited for the 230 gr hybrids? Will it work better than Retumbo with the 215's?

Guys running any combination of RL33 w/ the 215's or 230's, please share what you know. Thanks.

You will be very close to a full case with RL-33 and a 215 depending on OAL.

I worked up to 102 grs of RL-33 with the 230 Berger match target hybrid. Using 100 grs which showed best accuracy.

Perhaps others will share load data for the 215 and RL-33.

thanks - what was your velocity with that combo? barrel length?

My new magneto speed showed velocities slightly higher than the CED Millenium approx. 2990 fps. That is with 230 gr Berger match target hybrid, 100 gr of RL-33, Rem brass, Fed 215 match.

24" barrel. I just had to try this new bullet but twist on other 300 RUM barrel was too slow. Had a Rem takeoff in 300 win mag that was 24" and owned the reamer. It was an experiment to shoot the bullet. Little did I know it would work so well. The rifle is shorter and very handy, I like it so well that I might just make another short barrel when this one gets tired.

Bullet is seated to fit and feed from a Wyatt's mag box in a push feed model 70 OAL is 3.765"

I load 101.5 grains RL33 and the 230 Hybrid Target. My COAL is 3.830" to fit in my Wyatt's magazine. It's pretty close to 100% load density. I suspect you may have a compressed load if using the 215 and RL33 at this same length. It will all depend on your COAL.

I did a search on the topic and read some of your previous comments - sounds like you used to run the 215's? Curious, why the switch to 230's?
also, what is your velocity and barrel length?
Thanks..
