I own a Ruger M77 HB(Tang Safety)in .22-250 calibre. I purchased it second hand and the serial number would suggest it was manufactured in the early 80's. The rifle has a 1 in 9 twist barrel as standard. Has anyone come across this before? I suspect it was a police sniper rifle before it came into my hands.
