Ruger Blackhawk 41 Mag Question

I just picked up a new in the box Ruger BH 41 mag. It is a new model came in the red box. But it does have a recessed cylinder. Does anyone know when they stopped the recessed cylinders? The fit on this gun is excellent no movement.
Curious about the cylinder.

No help, but have you looked up the serial # of the yr made?
Just curious. I recently looked up my (bought used) Bisley super Blackhawk 44(roll marked cylinder) as being made in 1987.

It was built in 74 just as they transferred to the new model. I suspect the cylinder was a left over.
