I have tried a Weigand base(https://www.jackweigand.com/) on a short action and I just wasn't confident in it, felt like it had some flex in it.
Is there any reason that the receiver can't be milled off even amounts front and back and one of these just drilled and tapped directly to the top of the receiver??
