Rough value on Weatherby Vanguard

My uncle is wanting to sell his older model Weatherby vanguard in 7mm Rem mag. It has a Leopold rifleman 50 mm objective scope on it. I don't need it, but he has always been good to me, so I am thinking of buying it just to give him a quick sale. I plan to maybe sell it on this site at a later date. I'm not looking to make money, just roughly break even. It has a very thin barrel, appears to be camo dipped, and what appears to be a Boyd's thumb hole stock. It is in good working order, but has a little pitting (very light) on the bolt where the ejection port is. It has been used as a truck gun for a few years, but still a good, decent rifle. The serial number is VL421** I'm looking for anyone with a little knowledge to give me a rough value, where I can give him a fair price, but still be able to sell and make my money back without having to wait several weeks for someone to buy it. Thank you all for any help that you may provide.
