I have shot my Ruger .257 Roberts for 40 years with a Seirra 90 gr. hp. bt. gameking at 3300 fps. and have killed everything I have shot at. It shoots a big 1/4" at 100 yds. if I hold it right and it doesn't matter if it's a ground hog or an elk they are all Dead if you Hit them right. A lung shot kills them, A heart shot kills them and if you want them dead in their tracks a high neck shot is the way to go. If you have a gun that shoots under an Inch at 100 yds. then you don't need to shoot at a 2 1/2 Foot target. If you want them to drop in their tracks then break their necks. Just put it on the dent under the ear and even an Elk Won't Take a Step and it doesn't ruin alot of meat either..gun)
