I noticed rifling in my new Rem 700 308 Varmint SF is 1 in 12. Most other Rem guns in 308 are 1 and 10. What difference will this make?gun)

Most target or match 308 Remington's have a I in 12 twist for bullets up to 168 grains. the 1 in 10
twist Is normal for hunting rifles. Some believe that the 1 in 12 is inherently more accurate and normally a 308 looses to much velocity if heaver bullets are used anyway.

My 308 match rifle (40x Remington) has a 1 in 12 and shoots the 168s great, I tried the heavies
(180s to 240s) and it shot ok but had to much trajectory and very low velocities.

It should shoot all bullets below 175 great and you can load them up for best velocities.
