Ridgeline shoots poorly and jams

Ok Harry, please tell me what I am looking at. You seem to have a lot more experience than myself.
It looks to me like the chips from the reamer were not being flushed and created some damage, It also looks like as Bob said there is some spalling, Most likely from a dull reamer and heat. There is also a defect in one of the grooves that runs the length of the groove in a spiral.

I would think you are going to have extraction problems and marred brass. Shoot it and let us know what happens, Show us the brass, Make sure you clean the barrel real good first, Chips left behind and a projectile sent through will cause damage to the bore.

When the brass expands, It fills those little craters and causes extraction problems, This normally occurs in barrels that have become pitted from rust caused by corrosive ammunition, But I would think from the looks of that chamber you will have the same problems. I would think that if you've had the same guy send stuff back 2 or 3 times, You would put your best guy on the job and have him do the best job they can and turn out a great job.

If I was them I would have a good gunsmith on a manual lathe fixing all of their problems, They are certainly using CNC lathes to do these barrels with a flush system, A Haas CNC will show you how much tool pressure is being created, So they should be able to tell when the tool is worn out, A dull tool will create a lot more pressure and heat, It looks like that is what happened here. If they have to wait as long for reamers as the rest of us, I can see why their tools are being used as much as they can, But I also would have in house capability to sharpen them.

These areas of rough machining particularly the one I marked with "x".
I would be concerned the forward surface of the lug is binding on the end of the barrel. If it's close to binding when cold, then binding when hot.
It certainly could be jacking the bolt and leading to the scattering of shots, and distorting the fired brass.
Since it's going back to CA, it's a moot point now.
"Sorry" machining in my book.
Why is there double ejectors? Never seen that before?

Sako had weak ejectors on the TRG platform and they went to dual ejectors to correct the problem, My guess is CA copied that. Here is a TRG-22 Bolt. I have 3 TRG rifles, They are all single ejector, I have not had a problem with them yet.

Thanks Harry. New update. Cleaned gun 3 times, went to the range. Round 15 jammed, could not lift bolt handle, when I could, then I could not open bolt. Cases still showing ejector marks. But now, even worse, look at the huge brass shaving on the mag floor plate. I spoke with Erich at CA twice this last trip, told him I wanted either my money back or new weapons. They refused.

Take a picture of the brass, Show us the body of the brass so we can see if the chamber spalling transferred to the brass, It's hard to tell from the pics exactly where you were looking at in relation to the chamber, The only pic I am sure of is at the end of the neck area.

I am assuming your barrel is Cerakoted? It's pretty hard to get a barrel off without making marks on the Cerakote, Maybe somebody has cracked the code, But I haven't. Unless they re-coated the barreled action, You should be able to tell if they removed the barrel.

Ejector marks are normal on magnum models they have very stiff springs. I have a 300wsm and it leaves light marks when pressure is fine. I had tight bolt lifts on normal pressure rounds, but never stuck case. Mine loosened up about 100 rds in and is sweet and smooth now at around 200rds. But it does still leave light ejector marks on normal pressure rds.

Just for information sharing, have you sent the same pictures shown here on the forum to CA? Just tryin' to help…

Well, new update. Took 300 prc back to Scheels and got a full refund. Now just have to wait until the 6.5 gets back again, for the 3rd time. Anyone want to buy it? :)
But now i have a new problem. Got 2 cases of 300 prc, and I really like what this round may be able to do. So, I have never built or had a custom gun done. Where does one start?
