My name is Robert and I'm new to long range shooting. I'm looking for a scope that I can see very clear at 600 to 700 yards. My baby is a remington sps tactical in a .308 cal.

If you are going to hunt and shoot paper I would recommend something around 3 to 5 power
on the low end and 12 to 14 on the upper end.

If target only go with 6x20x50 or more.

My preference for an all round scope is a 4.5x14x50 side focus 30mm tube. It gathers light well,
can be used for running shots and has enough power for extremely long shots.

More power is good for paper but for most hunting situations it is troublesome.

For 1000 yards and in it will be all the scope you will need and also head position is not as critical.
