Remington BDL Internal Mag Spring Rust Question

I have several Remington 700s with the BDL internal mag setup. Most of the follower springs seem to be very susceptible to rusting, with prominent rust spots prevalent on them.

Is this normal? Or do I have bad springs?

Normal but frustrating. Some oil & 0000 steel wool will sort it out. Just gotta check & clean periodically, in my experience.

Thanks for the info. Hmm, that's a bit of a bummer. Guess I'll have to be more regular with my maintenance then.

Same thing happens with my Ruger 77. A minor nuisance. But...still a nuisance.

It's caused by turning the steel not a spring and is completely normal and yes, frustrating.
A good oiling is necessary.
