Remington 722

My father has a Remington 722 in 244 rem. will a Remington 700 barrel fit on this action?

The diameter and thread pitch is the same on both actions. The possibility of having the barrel time up and headspace without some machine work is slim. With the price of 722 Rems going steadily up, over the last ten years, I'd think long and hard about rebarreling. Especially in this chambering.
