Just checked out you site too. Seems like you miss the quarters alot, but you sure put a hurtin on the PDs. What kind of bullets are you using on the PDs?
How was the recoil on your new rifle using the ported barrel?
What would you compare it to?
I'm not surprised by the accuracy, I've seen two others do the same thing.
lightbulb If you have the VTR or the SPS, don't try to free-float the barrel. The stock isn't strong or stable enough to support itself. I tried free-floating mine, and now the entire left side of the barrel is contacting the stock. There must have been a heck of a lot of pressure on the original contact point at the end of the stock!!!
Oh well... I guess I needed an excuse to get a good stock anyway (as long as it's OD).
Arrow bedding with carbon shafts and marine tex could be an option. It may be able to not warp at that point... but I'm not an expert on that. I ordered a new VTR stock for now, and then will buy a Bell and Carlson Medalist light tactical stock for it and use the VTR stock on my .222 that has a walnut stock. So I may expiriment with the stock I ruined lol.
Are you going to handload?
Good luck, may your's be as accurate!
I have a Rem Vtr308 in the safe never even set it up with optics yet.
I have been having a hinkering to some long range shoots so maybe i will set it up.
What kind of base did you use?gun)
